Digital quality control
UTP applies industrial picture processing, i.e. digital picture signals in order to evaluate product quality. By means of cameras, the surface of our stick electrodes is being checked and scanned thoroughly. The latest generation of computers makes it possible to process and evaluate great amounts of data in a short time and afterwards send the resulting control signals directly to the SPC of the machine. This, in turn, casts aside those products, which do not match the standard. To date, any defects of the surface or the outline of the stick electrodes, as e.g. chippings or abrasions of the coat, fissures or adhesions, have been surveyed by eye and cast aside by hand; today this process is operated automatically. As a matter of course, our customers profit from this innovation – for an objective quality control with a better repeating accuracy in fatigue-free sequence sets a standard of perfection for the future.
