Research and product processing at UTP
More than 50 years, UTP is busy with the development and production of welding materials, brazing (soldering) – and coating materials. The products of UTP are constantly further developed and improved. This, of course is a guarantee to meet the steadily rising demands of quality requirements of UTP customers and to meet the demands of national and international standards. In recent years, numerous new products were developed. Ideas for new products or product improvements are coming mainly from market surveys (market studies), in which the adaptation of the actual material developments is often the centre of attention. For this reason, UTP has organized the development– and advisory capacities in close cooperation with the customer.
The planning and translation into praxis of development projects is, of course regulated in accordance with the quality management handbook and according to DIN EN ISO 9001/2000. Each step and measure regarding project processing, production initiation and report are described in procedural rules.
The UTP research and development is especially efficient because of its production closeness. A short process of decisions is good for a special flexibility in fulfilling the growing and special requirements.
Priorities of UTP duties of development are the centre (crux) of area responsibilities of UTP:
Nickel alloys for high temperature applications and high corrosion applications
In cooperation with industry and college institutes, new alloys, for example for a new
generation of power plants will be developed. At the same time; UTP is developing individual weld filler metals for this.
LNG technology
The main emphasis of UTP research and development is stressed on THE LNG TECHNOLOGY FIELD.
Through further development and optimization of the needed special weld filler materials, UTP contributed substantially.
Weld filler materials for repair and maintenance
Together with a worldwide tribological research, new materials for preventive protection against increasing physical/chemical/thermal wear phenomenon and repair.
